Discover Brooklyn Boys Pizzeria

If you’re craving a proper New York-style slice in South Florida, Brooklyn Boys Pizzeria at 9967 Glades Rd, Boca Raton, FL 33434, United States, delivers the kind of experience that keeps locals coming back. I’ve stopped in more than once after long afternoons nearby, and each visit has felt consistent-busy but organized, casual yet serious about the food.

The first thing that stands out is the aroma. That mix of baked dough, bubbling mozzarella, and simmering tomato sauce hits you as soon as you walk through the door. There’s a visible pizza counter where you can watch the staff stretch the dough and slide pies into the oven. That process matters. According to the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana, proper dough fermentation and high-heat baking are essential for flavor development and texture. While this isn’t strictly Neapolitan pizza, the attention to dough handling here reflects the same principles: slow fermentation, hand-stretching, and a hot oven that creates a crisp yet foldable crust.

On my last visit, I ordered a classic cheese slice and a pepperoni pie for the table. The cheese slice had that thin, golden crust with a slight char underneath-crisp at the base, soft in the center. The sauce leaned slightly sweet but balanced, clearly made from quality tomatoes rather than something overly processed. Pepperoni cups curled and crisped at the edges, releasing just enough oil to enhance the flavor without turning the slice greasy. That balance is harder to achieve than it sounds. Food scientists often point out that fat distribution and moisture control are key factors in pizza texture, and here, both were spot on.

The menu goes well beyond basic slices. You’ll find specialty pies, strombolis, calzones, pasta dishes, and classic Italian-American staples like chicken parmigiana and baked ziti. I once tried their baked ziti on a cooler evening, and it came out bubbling hot, layered with ricotta and mozzarella, with a hearty marinara that tasted slow-cooked rather than rushed. It’s comfort food done right-generous portions, no shortcuts.

What I appreciate most is the consistency. In restaurant reviews across platforms like Yelp and Google, repeat customers often emphasize reliability. That theme shows up here too. During a busy Friday dinner rush, I watched the staff manage a steady stream of dine-in guests and takeout orders without visible chaos. Orders were called clearly, slices were reheated quickly but not dried out, and tables were cleaned promptly. That operational flow speaks to experience behind the counter.

Location also plays a role. Being on Glades Road means easy access for families, college students, and professionals alike. It’s the kind of spot where you can grab a quick lunch, bring kids for a casual dinner, or order several pies for game night. The atmosphere isn’t fancy, and it doesn’t try to be. Instead, it leans into that neighborhood pizzeria vibe-bright lighting, menu boards overhead, and the comforting clatter of trays and pizza cutters.

Nutritionally speaking, pizza often gets a bad reputation. However, studies published by organizations like the USDA show that when made with balanced ingredients-tomato sauce rich in lycopene, moderate cheese, and lean proteins-it can fit into a reasonable diet. Portion control matters, of course. Here, slices are generous but not oversized to the point of excess, which makes it easier to enjoy without overdoing it.

One detail worth mentioning is the crust structure. I’ve noticed the bottom maintains integrity even when topped with extra cheese or vegetables. That suggests proper gluten development during dough preparation. Gluten formation, when handled correctly, gives the dough elasticity and strength, allowing it to hold toppings without collapsing. It’s a small technical detail, but it’s often the difference between average pizza and a truly satisfying slice.

While I can’t speak to every single item on the menu, the core offerings-cheese, pepperoni, specialty pies, and baked pasta-have been consistently strong in my experience. Prices align with other Boca Raton pizzerias, and portion sizes make it good value for families or groups.

In a city full of dining options, Brooklyn Boys Pizzeria stands out because it focuses on fundamentals: quality dough, balanced sauce, properly melted cheese, and efficient service. Sometimes that’s all you really need from a neighborhood pizza joint.

  • Takes you right back to New York the moment you walk in. The smell of the food is straight out of my childhood. Pizza is great, Sausage and Peppers Sub to die for. Planned on saving half for lunch and left with full belly and empty hands. Will definitely be back!!!

  • I’ve been eating here for about 6 years now and honestly I’ve never been unhappy with the Pizza! Granted I like the slices better because the crust is thinner and much more crispy. When I order a pie I usually only get a small and that crust is too thick for me. Just depends on your taste and likes. Sauce is nice and sweet, cheese is the perfect amount, only thing is unless you order “well done” the pizza is a bit under done in my opinion. Toppings are also very yummy and fresh, especially the garlic!!! The staff here is always nice and if they recognize you they are always quick to ask how you are. Over all this is a nice little Pizza Joint that, for me, is reminiscent of the good old days when a slice on a plate was the only way to eat in summer!

  • Friendly staff and a great location. However, there’s not enough parking around the main entrance, so you may need to use the Citibank parking at times. Service takes a bit longer, but the quality makes it worth the wait.

  • I've been coming here for years!! As a Jersey girl, i am very picky about my pizza. Brooklyn Boys has THE BEST pizza in all of Boca, hands down. The service and people there are absolutely wonderful.

  • We love your pizza, but the past few years, I have noticed that you are not fermenting your dough properly. It used to be crispy with proper color. Now, I can tell by the color, and by the limpness in the pizza, that you need to spend more time fermenting the dough before using it. I hope that helps bc when the dough is properly fermented, you really do have one of the best pies in South Florida.
